Developing greenhouse design and simulation tools meant for suppliers of greenhouse technology
"Climate change and increasing world population ask for sustainable solutions for fresh food production. The Dutch suppliers of Greenhouse technology have a wide collection of technologies to design a sustainable and efficient greenhouse for each situation, from Russian tundra to Middle East desert. TNO develops greenhouse design and simulation tools for the technology suppliers. Exmples are CASTA for the structural design of the greenhouse and SIOM for the simulation of a complete growing season (see movie). Licenses for these tools can be obtained at the Hortivation foundation. Furthermore TNO has a wide expertise to help suppliers in the development of new greenhouse technology”
